Artist Statement Ms. Watson has lived in North Florida all her life. She began her profession as a studio artist in her early twenties. She has worked as an animator, illustrator, textile artist, art teacher and licensed interior decorator. Ms. Watson paints from her own photographs taken locally, as well as from remote locations worldwide. As a lifelong environmentalist, her artistic creations manifest her love of nature. She is represented in over 200 public and private collections from New York to Nigeria and Peru. Her artist statement reads: "I have combined my two loves, one of painting and the other of nature. Since I began painting as a child, the natural world has been the dominating theme in my work. Whether in the form of animals and plants, as in my early painting, or in the landscapes in which I currently work, nature prevails. "My objective as a painter is to capture the essence of the Florida wilderness and to instill in others a love and respect for the life there. I hope to bring to people an awareness of the magic in these sacred places."
