Artist Statement Most of my graphic design reflects my painting style, but the logos should project what is being represented. Those designs are usually used in print media like magazines or on stationary if the colors or type can be easily reproduced. Logos for the web are the same way, but sometimes they can also incorporate other graphical elements for presentation. I use bright colors and sans-serif fonts when I can because they seem to be the easiest to manipulate. Sometimes, I get the chance to draw an icon that might be used as a company's insignia. Just like my other works, I start with some sketches on paper, and then I use the appropriate medium to finish it. In 2000, I won a prize from the Jacksonville Humane Society for designing a paw prints logo for their Christmas tree ornament drive. My graphic designs have been used on commercial brands and to promote non-profit organizations. In graphic design, logos and illustrations should be simple to identify by any audience. The customized icon or type a designer creates must meet the needs of their client. And in my opinion, the best logos are the ones that could last for generations. You can also view my work on iD Arts Magazine Jacksonville's Gallery3 and Sculpture pages.
