Artist Statement My work never ends up the way I first envision it; it always evolves slowly. Rarely do I finish a piece at one sitting, as I usually play with it for days. Play is key here. I must have fun with my designs and enjoy the healing effects of the arts. Artist Biography Born in Alabama in an army fort, I moved around all throughout childhood until I was 13 years old when we moved to Jacksonville and I attended John Gorrie Junior High. It was then that I became re-introduced to music and became an oboist. I remained in band at Robert E. Lee Senior High School and the University of Florida. Graduating from UF in 1989 with a degree in advertising, I found employment as an advertising sales representative with The Florida Times-Union. While employed at the T-U, I was introduced to A City of Expression and iD Magazine. I can attribute all my Graphic Design experience from working on iD Arts Magazine and iD Arts Magazine Jacksonville. In 2005, I was honored to receive the Webism Doer Award for my work creating a gallery for the Webism Group of Worldwide Artists. Currently, I look to help expand A City of Expression Jacksonville and hope for an expanded iD Arts Magazine Jacksonville. Artist Images
